Keeping it respectful, responsible, safe & fun.

History

Over 40 years old, the Hastings May Day Bike Run started in 1979 from humble beginnings with a chap called Tim Gooderson and a group of his friends gathering to visit the town of Hastings on the newly formed May Day Bank Holiday weekend. It's popularity grew after a magazine article run the story in 1981 of bikers visiting the town, Hastings proceeded to develop the weekend into a celebration with Jack-In-The-Green, and today it is one of the largest May Day bike runs in Europe with tens of thousands of bikers in attendance, and many more visiting the town to see the show.

The future is up to everyone, so let's keep it alive and flourishing.
